Overview
Youth Support Worker is a term position reporting to the K’äjìt-in Zho Evening Supervisor. The role delivers front-line planned and scheduled programs and activities for youth ages 8–30 years. Programs are recreational, cultural and social, helping youth develop personal competencies, self-confidence, social and relationship skills, conflict resolution, problem-solving and leadership, and opportunities to learn traditional knowledge and TH culture. Programming is based out of Kʼäjìt-in Zho (Youth House) and delivered from various venues including the Chief John Jonas Support Centre, community facilities, on-the-land camps and other Yukon communities as needed. The incumbent works with youth to establish trust, provide support, guidance and mentorship, and ensure daily programming activities are organized and delivered effectively.
