Waste Disposal Operator
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment—including loaders, compactors (packers), and excavators (track hoes)—to manage the placement, compaction, and covering of waste materials.
- Support day-to-day landfill operations by maintaining site conditions, ensuring adherence to environmental and safety regulations, and performing routine equipment inspections and maintenance.
- Move, spread, compact, and cover waste to maximize landfill capacity and maintain a clean and organized disposal area.
- Monitor incoming waste for compliance with disposal requirements.
- Maintain access roads and working areas, and contribute to overall site maintenance, including litter control and facility upkeep.
Reporting to the Manager of Transportation, this position ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the Weyburn landfill activities.
