The position supports the curriculum and studio resources for the School of Art’s Video area such as equipment and studio spaces used by faculty, students, and visiting artists in their creative art production and research. In collaboration with the Business Manager, the position is responsible for executing the implementation of the School’s vision for the Sound Stage. The technician is responsible for coordinating the video studio areas outside of scheduled class hours and serves as the primary point of support for students engaging with the sound stage and media crib. Their responsibilities include training students how to use equipment properly and advise on the technical components with projects. The technician is responsible for applying the university’s safety policies and instilling in students an awareness of proper studio conduct and etiquette.
