Veterinary Extern - General Practice (Gananoque)

Overview

Thousand Islands Veterinary Services is a small animal GP with a doctor who has a special interest in all exotic animals. We have a team that cares about each other and is very supportive. We realize that we all were students once and we all want to support and help students to learn and grow. Our doctors enjoy teaching. We are a fun-loving group, and we are lucky enough to live in a truly beautiful part of Ontario!

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, and dentistry services.
• Observe/assist or perform surgical procedures and medical management of patients as part of externship experiences.
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
