Compensation

Veterinary Assistant I Pay: $19.39 - $26.57/Hr

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency cases as they arrive, obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Assist the doctor in creating patient treatment plans and thoroughly explaining them to owners.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including correct patient positioning.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting the Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Assist with phlebotomy and intravenous catheters.
