Responsibilities
Reporting to the Foreman, the Pipelayer is responsible for safely and accurately installing underground water, sewer, and storm systems. Working closely with the excavator operator, the Pipelayer directs trench digging activities and ensures trench depth, slope, and bedding meet required specifications. This role involves setting pipe to line and grade, aligning and joining sections, and preparing for safe and efficient backfilling.
- Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
- Direct the excavator operator while checking trench depth and grade
- Set up, align, and install water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainpipes
- Assist with rigging, hoisting, and lowering of pipe, manholes, catch basins, and concrete structures
