Responsibilities
- Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using GPS or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Load and unload goods
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Pay and receive payments for goods
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
