A Brief Summary of This Position: This individual contributor position is responsible for analyzing and optimizing the processes involved in the supply chain, ensuring that goods are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time. The Logistics Specialist requires to evaluate transportation routes, carrier performance, and warehousing strategies to minimize expenses without compromising service quality.
Essential Functions: Schedule and coordinate transportation from Valmont and Non-Valmont locations. Select carriers effectively using a Route guide to support the cost savings strategy. Optimize Valmont´s logistics operations through reorganizing shipping schedules, consolidating loads, and maximizing vehicle usage to reduce costs. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, warehouse staff, and transportation providers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
