Tool Engineer (Ciudad Apodaca)

Designs molds, dies and fixtures for production and experimental use, improving manufacturing methods and initiating design changes for cost effectiveness.

Directs tool design to support production. Supports engineering and sales in product design for manufacturability.

• Coordinates and directs tool/gauge design and build for prototypes, production programs, and engineering changes. Monitors and maintains program tooling budgets. Monitors progress and quality of tool build both in-house and by outside sources.
• Studies specifications and confers with engineering and shop personnel to resolve design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures and costs of tools. Assists in concept, design and sample building of new products.
