About Your New Role
Reporting to the Supervisor, Resource Development, the Geotechnician will be responsible for cutting core as marked by the geologist, placing the samples in bags, and marking them for submission to the respective assay laboratory.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Move core to and from the core shacks and cutting shacks (estimated 50–70 lbs per box).
- Cut core samples as marked by the geologist.
- Place the cut segments into labelled bags, respectively of the sample tag number.
- Record data on sample quantity per bag to be later entered into an Excel database.
- Place core boxes in tidy, organized stacks in the respective core yard.
- Create and staple core boxes with labels.
- Assist geologists with drill program related tasks outside the confines of camp, such as locating drill collars.
