Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician (Technician V) supports the smooth operation of the School of Engineering teaching and research laboratories. The role includes fabricating equipment, maintaining instruments, training users, and ensuring laboratory safety in accordance with university policies.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with faculty, researchers, and graduate assistants to meet project timelines and safety requirements.
• Fabricate and assemble complex test fixtures using sketches, schematics, and functional drawings.
• Operate hydraulic testing machines, floor, wall, and post‑tensioning equipment for civil column and beam failure tests.
• Operate and maintain chemistry lab instrumentation (spectrophotometer, pipetter, analytical balance, muffle furnace, incubator, centrifuge, autoclave, etc.).
