Technician IV - Failure Analysis

Job Description: A failure analysis technician is responsible for providing failure analysis to support customer returns, qualifications, and other engineering evaluations. The role involves collaboration with FA requestors and other cross‑functional teams. Proper housekeeping, environmental, health, and safety protocols must be observed.

Responsibilities

• Support customer returns and qualifications that need failure analysis.
• Perform non‑destructive analysis such as optical visual inspection, x‑ray, and scanning acoustic microscopy.
• Perform destructive analysis including soldering/desoldering, lead conditioning, deballing/reballing, mechanical/chemical decapsulation, package/die level deprocessing, cross‑sectioning, and other FA techniques.
• Conduct material analysis such as SEM/EDX, cross‑sectioning, wire bond mechanical testing, and other capabilities the FA lab may acquire.
