Responsibilities
- Hold responsibility for the technical condition and seaworthiness of assigned bulk carrier vessels, in line with class society and statutory requirements
- Organise dry docking, repair works, and maintenance schedules to reduce vessel downtime
- Track vessel performance and fuel consumption through onboard systems and AMOS or equivalent planned maintenance software
- Approve technical budgets, expenditures, and purchase requisitions for vessels under management
- Liaise closely with classification societies, flag state authorities, and port state control to keep vessel certification valid
- Conduct scheduled ship visits and inspections, with particular attention to cargo hold condition, hatch cover integrity, and cargo gear systems
- Direct root cause investigations into technical incidents and machinery failures, and put corrective measures in place
