Job Description for Curriculum Writer (Grade 1-8) – Summer 2026 (45 hours)

Program Dates

• July – August 2026 (approximately 45 hours to be completed)
• Support from a team leader; in‑person and virtual team meetings required

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to create resources that support admin and educators aligned with the Ontario Curriculum for Grades 1‑8.
• Uphold the Durham District School Board’s commitment to Indigenous Education, Human Rights, Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Racism.
• Co‑write content with team members, revise work per peer feedback, and maintain consistent voice and purpose.
• Integrate evidence‑based, culturally responsive, and anti‑oppressive instructional practices into materials.
• Support development of professional learning resources such as workshop guides, facilitator notes, slide decks, toolkits, and tiered activities.
