TalentEdge Fellowship Program (TFP) Stream

The TalentEdge Fellowship Program (TFP) stream of Ontario’s Vehicle Innovation (OVIN) program provides support for PhD graduates and post‑doctoral fellows to work on industry‑driven research and development projects related to automotive and smart mobility technology such as Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (C/AV) technologies, Electric Vehicles (EV), and battery technologies.

Comments on Funding

Each twelve‑month fellowship is valued at $85,000. Funding is $35,000 from OCI and $50,000 from the company ($25,000 cash plus $25,000 in‑kind). OCI funding is $35,000 per twelve‑month unit for eligible project costs, up to a maximum of $70,000 (two units). Company‑based fellows must receive a minimum cash compensation of $60,000 per year; institution‑based fellows must receive a minimum cash compensation of $52,500 per year. The remainder may be used for direct project costs.
