Systems Engineer, Managed Operations

Responsibilities

• Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025, working closely with global AWS teams and influencing the evolution of AWS services and technology.
• Collaborate with technology leaders, contribute to day‑to‑day operations, and ensure improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency for EU customers.
• Operate and improve one of the largest software systems, reviewing the operational health of services under your care and writing actionable bug reports.
• Plan and execute changes following a formal change‑management process, ensuring that no production changes are made without proper authorization.
• Resolve the team’s backlog of operational issues and develop scripts that accelerate root‑cause analysis.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to resolve incidents occurring out of office hours.
