Unit Summary

The Prosthetics & Orthotics Department (P&O) offers three areas of service including: prosthetics, orthotics and postural positioning. Patient care in all three areas is provided following a written referral from a physician and with cooperation 
with other members of the health care team. These services are provided for both inpatients and out-patients from the Hamilton-Wentworth area and from surrounding regions.

Position Summary

The P&O student will provide assistance to technical and/or clinical staff in servicing patients. Duties will include, but are not limited to, cast filling and stripping, room set-up and cleaning, assisting clinicians with casting procedures, set-up and tear down of diagnostic equipment (e.g. F-Scan), technical assistance in fittings of devices and general assistance where needed.Schedule Work Hours

Monday to Friday; days

This position is temporary until May 2027.
