Substitute Teacher

Northland School Division is seeking Substitute Teachers at J.F. Dion School for the school year. The kindergarten‑to‑grade‑6 school is located in the Fishing Lake Métis Settlement, one of only eight legislated Métis land bases in Northern Alberta, Canada. The settlement is situated 52 kilometres south of Cold Lake.

Major Responsibilities

• Follow the prescribed program of studies for each subject taught.
• Plan and execute daily lessons based on short, medium, and long‑range planning.
• Provide feedback to students and parents in a regular, timely manner.
• Champion Cree language/culture revitalization and curriculum infusion.
• Support school‑parent‑community engagement.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and commit to collaborative decision‑making.
• Promote differentiated instruction to meet diversity in learning needs.
