The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the statutory body responsible for regulating Ontario’s capital markets under the Securities Act and the Commodity Futures Act. As Canada’s largest securities regulator, the OSC protects investors, promotes fair and competitive markets, and contributes to the stability of the financial system.
Responsibilities
- Assist in prosecutions and other proceedings under the Securities Act before the Capital Markets Tribunal, the Ontario Court of Justice, and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including appeals.
- Draft proceeding documents.
- Conduct legal research on securities, administrative, criminal, civil, constitutional, and procedural law.
- Participate in examinations and witness interviews.
