Role Purpose: Secures purchasing activities for an assigned area and within a given framework, using selected suppliers to ensure product supply and profitability.
Has an overall responsibility to ensure that suppliers deliver according to price, delivery time & service level.
.Purchasing:
- Purchase parts/items of expertise area at the right quality, characteristics and volume.
- Review bid evaluation and negotiation.
- Review / release of purchase order and ensure the receipt of order acknowledgement.
- Feasibility study of engineering changes and amend PO as required.
- Cost tracking and savings.
- Maintain track record of supplier performance.
- Work with Sourcing/Category Management for new supplier development.
- Optimize inventory levels based on customer demand and forecast.
- Supplier payment approval through SIMS by collaborating with finance.
