ROLE SUMMARY
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides assessment, consultation, and intervention services to medically complex clients to support communication and swallowing needs. Using appropriate standardized and non-standardized tools, the SLP develops and implements individualized care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
The SLP monitors progress, provides education to families and staff, makes referrals as appropriate, and ensures compliance with organizational, MCCSS, and professional documentation standards while promoting safe, client-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides consultation (including prevention), evaluation, assessment, intervention and counselling to clients and families around communication
