About the Role
We are looking for a Backend Engineer based in Barcelona, Spain to join our distributed teams. As part of a squad, you will collaborate with product managers, designers, mobile and web engineers, data analysts, and business analysts to build and support a specific part of the Monzo platform.
Responsibilities
• Design and implement resilient backend services.
• Develop and maintain distributed systems that support Monzo's banking, payments, and financial services.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver features that meet customer outcomes.
• Contribute to the architecture of our public API and internal tooling.

- Strong experience developing backend services for a technology product.
