Overview
The University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) offers specialised diagnostic and treatment services to adult patients, as well as specialty ambulatory clinics located across the hospital campus. This Social Worker II position is part of the Social Work team and will be responsible for providing social work services to the adult population across inpatient units, including the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit and High Intensity/Stroke Observation Unit. The candidate will be a highly motivated, confident, and dependable individual who collaborates with team members, patients, and their families in a fast‑paced environment ensuring trauma‑informed, equitable care. The candidate will hold working knowledge of health care systems, SDoH, and community resources to support psychosocial interventions such as complex discharge planning, financial assessments, resource navigation, advocacy, and referral to internal/external agencies.
