Reports to: The Nunavik Research Centre Manager in the Department of Environment, Wildlife and Research

Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, and implement social science research projects relevant to the Department of Environment, Wildlife & Research’s mandate and Inuit priorities;
  • Collaborate with Nunavik communities and organisations to support their research initiatives, ensuring Inuit self-determination and ethical research practices;
  • Create research tools such as interview guides and surveys to gather data and Inuit knowledge;
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and prepare reports, presentations, and publications;
  • Advice on methods to integrate Inuit knowledge with western science;
  • Build partnership with community members, local and regional organisations to advance research projects;
  • Provide social science expertise to inform policy development such as management plans, strategies...
