Sessional - Faculty - HEAL3550

The school of nursing BScN program requires a sessional faculty member to teach the course HEAL 3350. This course presents concepts in mental health care to senior-level (3rd- and 4th-year) students in health-related fields. Students explore the evolution of mental health care in Canada and develop awareness of current issues and concerns affecting mental health care in today's healthcare environment. Students engage in experiential and reflexive learning informed by current evidence-based literature and clinical experts in the field. The course embraces a trauma-informed perspective, and students are guided through assessment, communication, teaching, and therapeutic techniques they can apply in their own lives and in their clinical practice.
