Senior Underwriting Consultant – Individual Underwriter
Location: Waterloo or Toronto (hybrid).
Role Summary
Review and analyze medical, lifestyle and financial information to evaluate eligibility and risk for Life and Critical Illness Insurance applications. Conduct risk assessment, make decisions, communicate outcomes, and build strong relationships with clients and advisors to deliver an exceptional service experience.
Key Accountabilities
- Analyze insurance applications and evidence of insurability; apply holistic underwriting expertise to make sound and competitive decisions.
- When decisions are unfavorable, negotiate better terms from reinsurers within reinsurance treaties and internal rules; communicate decisions clearly to advisors and physicians.
