Senior Lecturer/Lecturer (Senior Phase): IsiXhosa Language Education and Literacy

Responsibilities

• Supervise preservice teachers in the Senior Phase, from the first year to the sixth year in the teaching degree and the PGCE.
• Teach and learn isiXhosa to preservice teachers in the Senior Phase level, isiXhosa as a mother tongue and as an additional first language.
• Design, review or analyze curriculum or module guidelines for teacher training in isiXhosa, including isiXhosa for communicative purposes in preparation for service in South African schools and beyond where possible.
• Mentor students at Grade S and PGCE level focusing on language education, at Senior Phase and PGCE levels, assisting them in their educational research projects.
• Identify the research of students at the national and international levels.
