Senior Financial Processing Specialist

Job Summary

Working in a team environment, the Senior Financial Specialist will provide support to the Department of Paediatrics and divisions as well as Physician and Academic Business Services (PABS) and its BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) departments in preparing and reviewing requisitions, as well as expenditure and receivable documentation.

Responsibilities

• Identify and plan clearance of departmental research over‑expenditures.
• Coordinate the monthly bill‑back of salaries between UBC and PHSA/BCCH, maintaining billing summaries and reconciling variances.
• Compile and enter financial information for department databases, reports, and summaries.
• Prepare requisitions and journal vouchers, verify accuracy of account coding, backup documentation, and compliance with UBC, FoM, PHSA, and taxation policies.
