About the Opportunity

A well‑reputed, global software company in the Ottawa area is looking to add a Senior Database Engineer to their growing R&D group. Reporting directly to the VP of R&D, you will own the design, optimization, reliability, and protection of database systems across the Microsoft SQL Server platform while operating within an Agile/Scrum framework.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable database solutions, including conceptual data models and instance configurations for SQL Server.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune existing database systems to maximize real‑time transactional performance.
• Define and implement robust security protocols, data backup strategies, and high‑availability solutions.
• Partner with development teams to support new feature designs, future system capacity planning, and complex production deployments in distributed environments.
