Role Summary
This person will report directly to the Manager, Resource Planning and support all aspects of resource and generation planning, including completing technical and economic system studies related to generation additions and retirements, reliability studies, and load growth analyses. In the role of Engineer-in-Training, you will be joining a world-class team that is committed to energizing Nova Scotia, developing our electricity system, and keeping the lights on.
Responsibilities
- Support the ongoing development, maintenance, and validation of the IESO-NS PLEXOS capacity expansion and production cost simulation models
- Coordination and execution of medium and long-term studies related to introduction of new technologies, unit retirements, system demand configurations, and potential system dispatch improvements
