Context And Mission
The Earth Sciences Department, led by Prof. Francisco Doblas‑Reyes, specializes in air quality and atmospheric composition modelling, climate prediction and climate services. The group contributes to forecasting activities such as MONARCH (operational model for atmospheric sand and dust), ICAP, CAMS, and the CALIOPE and CALIOPE‑urban air quality systems.
