Position Conditions
Officers begin their law enforcement career with Brandon Police Service in the Patrol Section. The Patrol Section is comprised of four (4) platoons and works a 12‑hour shift consisting of 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off. Platoon members are in uniform and responsible to respond to calls for service on a 24‑hour day, 7 days a week. During their shift they patrol in a single person marked patrol unit. In general, a platoon member will maintain peace and good order, protect lives and property, and prevent and detect crime. They meet the emerging needs of the community, dealing with traffic problems, investigating hazardous or suspicious circumstances, providing crime‑prevention advice, and being a visible police presence.
Rate of Pay
$27.11 – $59.61 per hour (2025 Rates)
