The Parks, Recreation and Culture Department is seeking an experienced Outdoor Recreation Hiking Instructor to support community-based programs. In this contract role, you will deliver safe, high-quality hiking instruction in alignment with City policies and safety standards, creating a welcoming and engaging environment for participants of all ages and abilities. You will be responsible for planning and leading hikes and outdoor programs, managing participants, assessing trail and site safety, and preparing program materials. The role also includes trip planning and logistics, along with completing required attendance and incident reporting, while ensuring a positive participant experience and strong focus on safety. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include post-secondary education and/or experience in outdoor recreation programs and instruction, along with demonstrated knowledge of hiking practices and outdoor safety. You bring the ability to plan and le...
