Rail Technician (Doors)

The Rail Technician (Doors) is responsible for the inspection, fault finding, adjustment, setup, testing tram passenger door systems to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation. The role requires a sound understanding of electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic door systems and the ability to diagnose faults efficiently while adhering to all rail safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Inspect, strip and re install tram door systems.
• Set up and adjust door mechanisms to manufacturer specifications.
• Carry out functional testing following maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical, pneumatic and mechanical faults.
• Test door safety features including:
o Sensitive edge operation
o Obstruction detection
o Door interlocks
o Emergency release systems
o Door closing force
o Opening and closing times
• Use diagnostic software and test equipment where applicable....
