JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for structural department welding projects; performs specific QC tasks including visual inspection, documentation, measurement, identifying non-conformances, and adherence to Standards. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Welder has knowledge of commonly used welding concepts, practices, and procedures; relies on pre-established guidelines to perform the job; QC ensures fabrication is completed according to established quality standards, applicable specifications, and regulatory requirements, working under direction of QC Lead and Shop Manager. Specifically: Read and interpret weld symbols; follow weld marking requirements. Complete day-to-day QC activities and work assignments as communicated through management by conducting visual and dimensional checks on fabricated steel, to include welds, bolted connections, surface preparation, and materials.
