Purchaser / Buyer - Direct Procurement

Overview:
To negotiate, create & administer agreements for the acquisition and of assigned materials and services.
Responsible for acquiring the highest value items and obtaining maximum value for each dollar spent.
Meets requirements of internal & external customers and has regular contact with all departments and with key suppliers.
Procure items required for production so that Atotech obtains the highest possible value, includes solicitation of bids, recommendation of suppliers, and negotiation of agreements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Have working knowledge of imports and resale products.
Serve as back up to others in Purchasing.
- Reviews and acts upon MRP messages and other SAP reports.
Maintains SAP databases with regard to order quantities delivery dates, prices, supplier info, lead times etc.
- Locates sources for new materials and develops alternate sources for existing materials.
