BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently seeking a Prototype Buyer to join our PowerDrive System business unit team.ResponsibilitiesSend request for quote (RFQ) package to qualified suppliers including 2D/3D models, specifications, quantity, and material requirement date (MRD).
Review all supplier quotes and identify leverage opportunities for negotiations.Schedule technical review meetings for design risk components such as castings, shafts, gears, and sprockets.Select a supplier that is most competitive and capable of supporting the program's requirements.Complete and submit the purchase requisition to start the SAP workflow purchase order approval process.Submit a Prototype Supplier Nomination Form for approval requests over $20,000.Send sourcing package to the selected supplier, including the approved purchase order, released 2D print and 3D model, specifications, and a signed Team Feasibility Commitment (TFC) form.Maintain the prototype program tracking sheet and update i...
