Project Officer/Research Associate/Research Fellow (Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics)

The candidate will work in Prof Ong’s Research Group, where cutting‑edge research is carried out on a wide range of topics including Bayesian statistical probabilistic programming, statistical machine learning, generative AI, and AI safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage own academic research and administrative activities, such as small‑scale project management and coordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
• Carry out original research, including adapting existing and developing new mathematical models, scientific techniques and experimental protocols, building software tools and conducting empirical studies.
• Write, publish and disseminate results, and give research presentations at meetings.
• Contribute and develop ideas for new research projects and for generating research income, and present detailed research proposals to senior researchers.
