Project Manager (Antofagasta)

Overview

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to play a central role in the ALMA Wideband Sensitivity Upgrade (WSU) programme, whose primary objective is to broaden the ALMA receiver bandwidth by a factor of four and to upgrade the associated electronics and correlator.

ESO is heavily involved in the WSU through a number of development projects run in Europe and actively participates in the overall management of the programme, system engineering, technical evaluation, reviews, and working groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, high‑impact projects within the WSU programme.
• Collaborate closely with ESO development projects across Europe and with ALMA partners in East Asia, North America, and the Joint ALMA Observatory in Chile.
• Contribute to system engineering, technical evaluation, reviews, and participation in working groups.
