The Role

There are over 40,000 Indigenous people in our Nation’s Capital and Wabano serves over 15,000 of them every year. While you may think of Wabano primarily as a medical clinic, most clients come through doors to be part of our programs. From Elder teachings to youth culture camps, from seniors’ home support to cooking and fitness classes, the Programs Department is the cultural hub of Wabano.

The Programs Manager role has been a core component of Wabano’s senior management team for over 20 years, but over time, the role has evolved and grown. In the last five years, the Programs Department has doubled in size and now has about twenty two staff creating and delivering unique programs for every stage of the life cycle.
