The Role
The Product Owner, Services is embedded in a cross-functional Product Team and fulfills the primary accountabilities outlined below for client-sponsored projects.
The Product Owner, Services plays an important role in the sale and scoping of service-based engagements.
- Defining and communicating the requirements and business value in collaboration with the client, solution engineering and other stakeholders; and documenting those requirements in a Product Requirements Document and Statement of Work.
- Maintaining and prioritizing a sufficient backlog of ready-to-work backlog items to facilitate Sprint Planning.
- Accepting User Stories as being completed based on their established acceptance criteria and Definition of Done. In so doing, the Product Owner also fulfills a critical quality assurance function, focusing primarily on fitness for use.
