Medavie Health Services West (MHSW) is the subsidiary responsible for EMS services in Central Alberta. The Paramedic (PCP) provides immediate treatment and transport for sick and injured individuals. The role requires professionalism, communication, safety focus, and high-level knowledge of protocols.
Responsibilities
- Maintain personal knowledge and skills per the Alberta Occupational Competency Profile.
- Safely operate MHS West vehicles in accordance with the Health and Safety Manual, Operational Guidelines, and regulations.
- Stock and maintain vehicles in readiness at all times.
- Work in hazardous environments to ensure patient safety and stabilization.
- Collaborate with outside agencies as part of a coordinated effort.
- Document patient care, assessments, and skills in patient care reports in a timely and legible manner.
