Power Engineer – Limited Term (1 year)
Reporting to the Supervisor Central Plant, the Power Engineer performs work essential to the ongoing repair, operation and maintenance of the university’s base building HVAC systems. The position is full‑time, with an average shift of 7.5 hours per day, five days per week, and requires scheduling in an on‑call rotation for afternoon, weekend, statutory holidays and other required shifts.
Responsibilities
- Support of HVAC systems and equipment (40%): complete HVAC system and equipment requests, respond to urgent issues, maintain, operate and troubleshoot HVAC systems across the campus, including base building HVAC, remote heating plant(s), CHP cogeneration plant and solar panel systems, provide water treatment testing/analysis, manage hydronic systems, maintain lab service HVAC equipment, review performance reports, execute regular inspections, work with contractors on specialized maintenance, install new equi...
