Power Electronics Engineer (Port Perry)

Position Summary

Design and develop SMPS switching amplifiers, DC/ DC converters, and associated magnetics. Oversee schematic capture, board layout, bring‑up, verification, and prototyping of products ranging from 0.5 to 5 kW.

Responsibilities

• Design SMPS switching amplifiers and DC/DC converters (0.5–5 kW)
• Develop specifications, schematics, circuit simulations (Spice), and PCB layouts (Altium Designer)
• Design and test magnetics, transformers, inductors, and chokes
• Ensure EMI/EMC compliance and apply power factor correction and gate‑drive topologies
• Manage HV and grounding rules and gate‑drive topology PWM design
• Conduct verification testing, prototyping, board bring‑up, and quality control
• Lead efficiency testing and ensure design for manufacture
