Plumber/Steamfitter

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Maintenance & Engineering, the Plumber / Steamfitter performs a full range of Journeyperson level Plumber and Steamfitter duties utilizing considerable initiative and judgement in accordance with blueprints, diagrams, building codes (for plumbing steam fitting and gas / medical gas), provincial trade regulations and department policy. The incumbent monitors, tests, troubleshoots and documents the performance of high/ low pressure steam, hot water heating, associated plumbing distribution systems and equipment. In addition, the incumbent will complete preventative maintenance duties on assigned equipment along with testing and servicing existing equipment to ensure safety codes are met. Will assist trades and other maintenance staff as required and performs other duties as assigned.
