Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings.
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe fittings.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes according to specifications.
- Test pipes for leaks using air or water pressure gauges.
- Repair or replace broken drainage or water lines using hand tools or power tools.
- Install fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs according to building codes.
