Nature of Work
Under close supervision, performs limited electronic, electromechanical or mechanical production sub‑assembly and assembly operations of a repetitive nature to build up by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine tasks in preparation for machine operations and have multiple skill levels for machining activities.
- Handle more complex equipment and machinery.
- Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Set up and operate computer‑controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal or plastic workpieces.
- Perform first‑article inspection and spot checks throughout the process to ensure quality of the part.
