Planning Engineer (Water Infrastructure)

Overview

The Planning Engineer, in association with the resident engineer, develops the project execution plan using proper engineering techniques and milestone sequences for the project. The role includes setting targets for project activities to meet DM’s specifications and requirements. Planning engineers estimate timescales and costs using specialized design software packages (Primavera). They monitor day-to-day work progress and provide accurate weekly and monthly reports, communicating potential progress delays or project slippages. They track and analyze field results and continually compare planned and actual progress, reporting differences to the lead project manager. The candidate also studies the impact of alternative approaches.
