Planner 2 (OCP)

This position works in Community Planning. This is planning work at the professional level. An employee of this class applies specialized knowledge and social, economic and physical data to major policy planning projects involving complex problems and often politically sensitive issues. These projects may involve the development, coordination and implementation of the Official Community Plan (OCP) and area plans for a designated area of the city, or may involve a number of integrated projects requiring in depth research and involving recommendations on major policy changes. The work of this class is distinguished from that of Planner 1, in that more complex tasks of considerable scope and magnitude are performed.
