Physician Assistant - Emergency Services Administration

Job Description

Working with a team of health professionals in an inter‑professional collaborative model and under the supervision and/or delegation of a supervising physician (and in accordance with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario's policy on delegation) the Physician Assistant will provide quality patient‑focused care to patients in the Emergency Department under medical directives or direct orders.

Accountabilities

• Conduct patient interviews and take medical histories.
• Perform physical examinations and interpret findings.
• Organize laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
• Perform certain controlled acts under medical directives delegated by a physician.
• Counsel patients on preventive health care.
• Organize patient follow‑up.
• Perform other duties within your competencies as a physician assistant.
